VITAL is a European research & technology programme which aims to reduce aircraft engine noise and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. It brings together a large number of stakeholders in the European aviation industry, including all major engine manufacturers, Airbus and equipment-makers, as well as innovative small businesses, universities and research centers.
